HEARTbeats In Nepal
I recently returned from Nepal where my foundation was working with orphans from the Unatti House and children in Bhaktapur. I also had the pleasure of doing my very first Artist Ambassador program with the Save The Children foundation and I can say that everything was an intensely emotional and gratifying experience. I plan on writing more about everything but until then, there is an extraordinary record of the trip at the HEARTbeats Nepal blog. Speaking of the documentatians, we had a three member film crew along to document everything and we plan on having that footage available within the next several weeks so you can see exactly what made this a very special trip; one we hope will be the first of many.

Welcome to my blog. I am a 67 year old solo cellist who has been touring the world for the last 40 years playing almost everywhere of note in the classical music scene alongside many of the greatest musicians. Over all these years, I have accumulated many stories, opinions, and insights, and gifts of the spirit as well as objects. It has been and still is incredibly inspiring work and even though I consider myself “techno-challenged” I wanted to have an outlet to share everything.
Dear Mr. Harrell, I very much enjoyed your London Prom. I am a retired cellist now in a wheel-chair. In fact I met you at my last concert as a professional player when you played the Elgar in Bristol UK with the Ulster Orchestra, Dimitri Sitkovetsky and have a snapshot of you taken at the time. I have written 3 books for young cellists, one of which is on a London Examining Board Syllabus. The website associated with the book has a gallery of famous cellists, Casals, Feuermann…may I inclued your image with these. It is of good quality and wonderfully characteristic. I am very happy to donate all royalties for 5 years to the Heartbeats Foundation.
