Lynn,

Don't forget to tell them about your playing basketball at Franklin Junior High. You used to say equably, "They are worried about my hands." I failed to absorb their problem, whoever they were. You seemed to do well on the court and off.

I have enjoyed your blog so much! I studied with Mr. Aronson in the early 80's and played for you in a master class at SMU, I think in 1982 or 83. I have just finished "The Lost Cellos of Lev Aronson" and cried my eyes out. What an honor it was to work with him, and how much my playing changed! The last time I saw him was on the street in Philadelphia, where I had moved, in about 1986, after hearing you play with the Philadelphia Orchestra. I remember that concert so well because you played Dvorak so powerfully. Thank you for writing about him, and for sharing your own story with us.

Great story! Your family tragedy is so close to me... My father was a professional cellist and bass player. He passed the way from a car accident just one year and a half after my mother's death from cancer...

Best wishes,
Kalin Ivanov, cellist
